Seasonal Yoga Nidra
One of the simplest ways to connect to the earth, to Earth’s wisdom and consciousness is to bring our awareness to its habitual seasonal shifts. In the changes of the seasons, we can recognize similar shifts in our own energies: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Shifting from the season of rest and reflection (winter)to the season of rebirth (spring) to the season of acton (summer) to the season of letting go (fall/autumn), returning to the season of rest and rest and reflection. In observance of the Solstices and Equinoxes we use Yoga Nidra, a deep relaxation technique, to help us ease into awareness in our bodies and minds by softening our muscles, quieting our thoughts, and connecting to our senses.
Washoku Cooking Class
Transform your ideas of breakfast! Learn to make from-scratch miso soup "to go," beginning with delicious dashi and steeping seasonal vegetables. We’ll explore the 15 healing practices and principles of Washoku, and how to use them every day.
Pranayama and Journal 'n Flow
We’ll practice three breathing techniques, 3-4 minutes each, that help to calm the mind, promote relaxation, and cool the body.
Using journal prompts, we’ll create mantras, set intentions, and capture in writing what comes up during our movement session. Combining journaling and yoga can help us to deepen our yoga practice, and also to deepen our awareness of and connection to our true self.
How to Shift
Is your life in balance? We’ll use health coaching tools to assess how you’re feeling about where you are, where you want to be, and what kind of accountability you need to create healthy habits.
